Save the weekend, Old Maroon. This November, we’re bringing generations of Texas A&M Rugby back together for Old Maroon Family Weekend, November 6–8 in College Station.

It’s a weekend built around the people, traditions, and relationships that make Aggie Rugby what it is. Come back to Aggieland, bring the family, reconnect with teammates, get back on the pitch, meet today’s Aggies, and be part of the next chapter of Texas A&M Rugby.

Meet Head Coach, Jacob Mizell

New sheriff in town!

We are proud to announce Jake Mizell as the Director of Rugby and Head Coach of Texas A&M Men's Rugby!

“I am honored and excited to become the Director of Rugby and Head Coach at Texas A&M. Being from Texas, this opportunity means a great deal to my family and me. Rugby has shaped my life since I first started playing in Keller, and I know how much talent, toughness, and pride exist in this state. My goal is to build a program that develops players, creates leaders, competes at a high level, and represents Texas A&M with pride every time we take the field.”

A native of Keller, Texas, Mizell brings more than 20 years of experience in rugby as a player and coach, including more than a decade at the collegiate level.

Most recently, Mizell served as Assistant Coach with Army West Point Men’s Rugby; his work focused on the forwards, contact area, set piece, scouting, recruiting, player development, film review, and program operations. During his time at West Point, he contributed to a high-performance environment focused on discipline, leadership, accountability, and player growth. In the past, Mizell has served as Head Coach and Director of Rugby Operations at Arkansas State University and as an assistant coach at Iowa Central Community College, where he helped lead the team to win the 2019 D1-AA XVs National Championship. He has also coached at the University of Oklahoma, Spring Hill College, and Glendale Raptors Youth Rugby.
