BRIDGING HOPE THROUGH COMMUNITY SERVICE AT ORPHANAGE - 2004
Texas A&M RFC will be participating in great community service event that will need Old Maroon assistance to fund. Following the Texas A&M vs. t.u. cup match on Feb 26th, they are going to travel to Nuevo Laredo, Mexico and stay the night. The following day they will put on a rugby clinic at an orphanage down there, run by an organization called Bridging Hope, organized by Peggy Gerke out of Austin. A&M has calls into the Athletic department to donate sports equipment and Rec Sports will pay for their vans to Austin and back but they will need some additional funds for gas and rental to cover the extra day and distance, as well as hotel rooms for a night. It is possible that the orphanage will also be in need of building supplies, etc. that people could donate rather than cash, but they are still gathering those details.
This will be a great opportunity for the club and they should be able to get some good pictures for publicity, etc. They are working on getting t.u. to participate as well as it will generate a little more effort in donating by competition.

Thank you for "Bridging Hope" for the orphans of Mexico through this community service project, the sport of rugby and the Texas A&M Rugby Football Club. Gig 'Em!
During the recent hit on the Gulf Coast by Hurricane Katrina, a couple of Old Maroon members, David Moll '03 and Jeff Reuther '03 were devastated by her power and from what I've heard, they've lost everything. We hope you find it in your heart to help these guys out in any way you can. If you would like to donate online, please use the "Make a Donation" button below. Please pray and keep them, as well as all Americans affected, in your thoughts and prayers.
