Howdy, Ags!
Posted, from Craig Belew:
“The Aggie Rugby 1st side was eager and ready for the challenge when LSU Rugby came into College Station on Saturday, February 1.
The Aggie Ruggers dominated LSU the whole game on a beautiful sunny day at the Penberthy Complex and won the match by a convincing score of 48-7. Go to the game summary from Travis Normand on his blog.
The Aggie 2nd side played a friendly against themselves mixed with some younger more energetic Old Marooners. Although there was one who looked a little over his playing weight and was sucking air as a result. The players know who this was, but at least he was out there!
Old Maroon was there to cheer both sides on the whole way and hosted all of the teams after their matches with grilled hamburgers and smoked sausage.
Thanks to Chuck Martin for coordinating and getting the first class BBQ Pit trailer, food, setting up our Old Maroon tent and banner, and contacting Old Marooners about the game. Those who made it had a great time.
Thanks also to Jim Goulding, Bobby Way, Cody Stringer, Doug Chester, Robert Moorman, and Craig Belew for making the trip, helping cook, clean up, and assisting Chuck backing his truck to hitch up the fancy BBQ Pit trailer at the end of the victory feast. How many Aggies does it take to back up to and tie on to a trailer? Well on this day it took 5!
A&M, LSU, and Old Maroon had a great time in fellowship, socializing, and eating after the game.
Let’s all try to get out to as many Aggie Rugby games as possible to show our continued support and appreciation this season.
GIG ‘EM AGS!!!”
Indeed, Gig ‘Em!
